Gifts through your IRA

If you are 70 1/2 years of age or older, and you are looking for a “tax-wise” way to support this work, you can make a tax-free distribution from your IRA directly to the Student Peace Awards of Fairfax County. Distributions of any size are most welcome, but the maximum total amount of qualified charitable donations is $100,000 per person each year without incurring income tax on the withdrawal. Please consult your personal tax or legal advisor for more information. Gifts should be initiated well in advance of the end of the calendar year to ensure they fall in the intended tax year.
