Approximately half of our funding comes from annual sponsor contributions. Click here for the contribution form.  We welcome new sponsoring organizations to help us fund the students’ awards, the March reception, and the mailings to the schools and students.

Herndon Friends Projects, a 501(c)3 organization, is doing business as (DBA) the “Student Peace Awards of Fairfax County”. All donations received are therefore tax exempt.

In 2022-2023, we spent around $9900, of which $3500 came from sponsor dues, $2800 from donations, and the rest from spending down savings from previous years. We would like to receive more donations so we can avoid reducing the award size.

Donors age 70.5 or older: please consider checking to see if you can donate to a charity using a qualified charitable distribution which is counted toward satisfying your required minimum distribution, meaning that the gift is tax deductible even if it does not exceed the standard deduction.
