“Leah Weiss is well respected by the staff and students of Quander Road School for her sound judgment and workable solutions for student conflicts, and she is also an accomplished student and a community advocate,” says Math Department Chair George Deneault. He adds that her interventions have avoided potentially explosive situations and have often led to peaceful, lasting relationships. “Students trust her leadership and many personal accomplishments, which gives others confidence that her advice and solutions are win-win for all sides.”
Leah is an active member of the Blossoming Beauties Club, a 2017 recipient of a Student Peace Award, founded to help girls grow into well-rounded, confident young woman and to work together on school and community projects. Leah has led Blossoming Beauties Club discussions and offered workable solutions to difficult problems. She is also a student in the Northern Virginia Community College JumpStart program, through which she has completed one course and is currently enrolled in two others.
Leah was accepted for a fellowship in the Global Leaders of Fairfax County, a program which defines its mission as “preparing its fellows to be global citizens and change agents in their community and the world.”
